He won the 2009 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup (category: under 23 men cross country). His other achievements include 3 times under 19 XC and marathon champion, got the 10th position in 2006 Commonwealth Games and has been a sponsor of GT Bicycles. He is the first South African to win Absa Cape Epic. He died on 3rd January 2013, at the age of 25, after getting hit by a taxi. Jenny Rissveds A Swedish young blood who won a gold medal in under – 23 mountain bike race at 2016 World Championships, held in Italy. In 2016 summer Olympics, she won a gold medal in women’s cross country category in Rio. Teaming up with her manager (Thomas Frischknecht), they covered 641km and conquered the mixed category. In 2017, she was also awarded the Victoria scholarship (annually awarded to athletes). Todd Wells A US professional cyclist who specializes in both, mountain bike racing as well as cross country racing. He lives in Arizona and races for SRAM/TLD factory racing team. In cross country racing, he has won the US national cycling cyclotross championships, of years of 2001, 2005 and 2010. He is also a 3 time Leadville Trail 100 winner, a 3 time Pan Am champion and the winner of La Ruta de Ios Conquistadores, held in Costa Rica.
Todd Wells is keen on Trek mountain bikes and he has won the 1st position in Sea Otter XC classic, Blitz to the barrel, Breck Epic Stage 2 and 4 and Gesta Heroica MX. Emily Batty The current Pan Am champion, Emily Batty hails from Canada. She is a lover of Trek mountain bikes and she won the bronze medal at 2016 World Championships.
