The Situation • The government of Colombia has put in place measures to control the ownership of land. • The rich and powerful officials subvert the protection offered. • The dispossessed in Colombia are living in abject poverty. • Colombians are put through death, displacement and hunger. • Farmers are forced out of their farms by the war. • US has participated through funding the tyrant Colombian government. • Wealthy Colombian landowners and the guerrilla warlords have created a military and paramilitary groups.
