  1. Yellowstone National Park An American national park located in the western United States the Yellowstone National Park let us look what the hype is all about. Where is Yellowstone National Park? The location of this American national park is in western side of United States. The larger part of the park is in the northwest corner of Wyoming and it extends to Montana and Idaho. It was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. Significance of the Park It was the first national park in the U.S. and also holds the first position worldwide. The park is famous for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful geyser, one of its most popular. While it represents many types of biomes, the Subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.

  2. The Area it Covers The park spans an area of 3,468.4 square miles, comprising lakes, canyons, rivers, and mountain ranges. Yellowstone Lake is one of the largest high-elevation lakes in North America and is centered over the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest super volcano on the continent. The caldera is a dormant volcano. It has erupted with tremendous force several times in the last two million years. Geysers & The Hydrothermal System The most famous geyser in the park, and perhaps the world, is Old Faithful geyser, located in Upper Geyser Basin. The park contains the largest active geyser in the world—Steamboat Geyser in the Norris Geyser Basin. At least 1283 geysers have erupted in Yellowstone. Of these, an average of 465 are active in a given year. Yellowstone contains at least 10,000 thermal features altogether. Half of the world’s geysers and hydrothermal features are present in Yellowstone. The Yellowstone National Park weather during April-May attracts more people. Yellowstone ranks among the most popular national parks in the United States and is a major tourist attractions for the people in and outside the United States.
