I'm often asked what the best oil is for a breathing air compressor. Well, the fact there is no best oil for breathing air compressor. Breathing oil is very harmful to the body. You're not going to be very well if you decide to breathe oil. What the issue is, it's the downstream filtering and equipment, it's the bits that take the oil carryover out, generally coalescing filters, generally carbon filters. That's the trick and often you find in an application like panel beating or spray painting, where these guys get in to spray their equipment, they not only have protective filters on the wall immediately after the compressor, they also carry a protective filter on their waistband which gives them a second level of protection. So there is no best oil. Use what's right for your machine and make sure your downstream filtration is correct and compatible for breathing in.
