Her efforts have not gone unnoticed, as she's been named one of BBC's 100 Most Influential Women in the World in 2022 and has won numerous awards for her outstanding work, including the 2022 Social Change Maker of the Year in Gender Gold Award by The Stevie Awards and The Humanitarian Hero Award 2022 by Aidex. On July 3rd, when the Ahmed Bassam Zaki case began, Gehad noticed numerous posts from men claiming that the victims were to blame for the abuse they experienced due to their clothing or behavior. This was very frustrating, so she posted on her personal Facebook account that harassment has nothing to do with clothing and that people have all experienced it. Gehad also asked women to share their experiences in the comments or through messages and added a Google form link for those who wanted to remain anonymous.
