  1. History Of Baleshwar Mahadev Mandir Baleshwar Mahadev Mandir is an ancient temple located in the town of Champawat in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to have been built during the 7th or 8th century AD. According to legend, the temple was built by the Pandavas during their exile in the forest. The temple is also said to have been visited by Adi Shankaracharya, the great philosopher and saint who is credited with the revival of Hinduism in India in the 8th century AD. The temple was later renovated by the Katyuri Kings, who ruled the region from the 7th to the 11th century AD. The Katyuri Kings were great patrons of art and architecture, and they left their mark on many temples and other buildings in the region. The Baleshwar Mahadev Mandir is built in the traditional North Indian style of architecture and is made of stone. The temple has a sanctum sanctorum where the main idol of Lord Shiva is located. The temple also has a large courtyard and a few smaller shrines dedicated to other Hindu deities. The temple is located on the banks of the river Saryu and is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. It is one of the holiest places in Uttarakhand and attracts thousands of devotees every year. Today, the Baleshwar Mahadev Mandir is a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India and is a popular tourist destination in Uttarakhand.
