The modern urban lifestyle, where people live in increasingly smaller apartments, often in dense concrete jungles, with little natural light entering their homes, has become a major concern. Numerous studies have found that the adverse effects of such a lifestyle range from anxiety and depression to physiological disturbances. City dwellers are spending more and more time indoors – offices, air-conditioned cars and enclosed apartments, reducing the amount of natural air and sunlight needed for a healthy body; especially for kids who can barely play outside. • The evidence for the positive benefits of access to daylight for human health and well-being is now undeniable. Nature delivers the right dose (intensity) of the right type (wavelength) at the right time to capture the human body's circadian rhythm. Thus, daylight plays an important role in maintaining important processes in the body, such as hormone production, sleep-wake cycles and the effectiveness of the immune system. Lack of daylight at the right time can pose significant health risks, as shown by research on increased cancer rates in shift workers with circadian rhythms.
In contrast, access to daylight has been shown to significantly increase productivity, reduce office absenteeism, and increase cure rates in health facilities. • Outside views also have a proven positive effect on the health and well-being of building users. Natural scenery seems to be even more important as they have also been shown to reduce stress and improve mood. The World Health Organization says mental health disorders are projected to be the second most common disease in the world by 2020, and stress can be a big contributor. Providing natural views and access to sunlight within the built environment seems to be an important design factor. • In India, where such issues go completely unnoticed, it is up to us to choose our options wisely when buying a home, focusing not only on location and price, but also on ventilation, views and outdoor features that allow families to breathe. easily, literally.
At Marathon, we think very much about the user experience that way – our design team thinks about building orientation and window size. We even do solar research to make sure the home gets plenty of natural light. Innovations like the expansive Nexworld living room take this to a whole new level. • Spacious living room at the Nexworld Marathon • And while such amenities and views come at a premium (and even more expensive than us to build such a space), it is part of a conscious effort to provide residents and customers with healthier and more sustainable lifestyles that will benefit them in the long run. long. at a large cost margin. Now it is important to be careful in choosing an apartment and invest in a future that is good for us and our families and live a trouble-free life in harmony with nature.
