Why You Should Test Your Workforce

We set up the Pure Testing Covid-19 testing centres to help meet the demand for more PCR and Antigen Testing along with Fit to Fly Certificates. Our goal is to help more of the general public to understand if they are carrying the virus, so that the UK can return to some form of normality again.

  1. Why You Should Test Your Workforce Most business have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in some way or another. Whether it’s that you had to shut down completely for a period of time, had staff that were off as part of the government’s furlough scheme or had staff who previously worked at your business premises, now work from home, it’s likely you have had to make some adjustments over the last couple of years. One of the ways that most companies, regardless of sector, industry, or size, have been affected is by having to accommodate regular testing. If you are only just opening up again and bringing staff back into your workplace or are a new business, you may wonder why you should test your workforce. In the following post, that’s what we’re going to look at. The Importance of Workplace Testing for Covid-19 The reason the government, health organisations and other officials and experts are pushing that more companies start conducting regular workplace testing for Covid-19 is that they believe it will help to identify a larger number of positive cases. The more positive cases that can be identified, the better chance we all have of keeping the individuals who are really infected in isolation and slowing down the spread of the virus. By doing this it will also help to protect people who are unable to work from home and the vital first-line services that the country relies on. Identifying Those Without Symptoms Workplace testing is an especially important part of the collective fight against the spread of the virus as approximately 1 in 3 people who are infected do not have any symptoms. That means there is a large number of people who could be unwittingly and unknowingly spreading the disease. By expanding the testing to help identify asymptomatic individuals it means finding those positive cases quicker and breaking transmission chains quicker. Why You Should Test Your Workforce

  2. At the moment, it is not mandatory and only voluntary to have workplace testing programmes in place. However, the government feels it is the best step forward to reducing the risk of transmission. There is another huge benefit you can gain from having a testing programme for your workforce, though. As many people are still nervous about the virus and its potential effects, even if the contract it while being fully vaccinated, having testing in place can help your workers feel more comfortable and safer. A workforce that feels confident that you are doing all you can with their best interests at heart, are more likely to be more productive. Regular testing can also prevent individuals who think they may be infected self- isolating and will mean your business does not suffer as much from disruptions. At Pure Testing, corporate testing is available if you are looking for a third-party to help arrange regular Covid-19 tests for your staff. The specially trained and experienced staff can come to your workplace and either operate from within or setup a temporary testing facility outside in an open space.
