  2. 5 Most Fuel-Efficient Cars In India CurrentlyFuel efficiency has always guarded the new car buying choice for the Indian consumer. This issue has become sever in the recently due to the rising fuel prices. Today we look at 5 of the most fuel-efficient cars in India.

  3. Toyota Urban Cruiser HyryderToyota entered the mid-size SUV segment in India with the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It is available with two powertrain options - a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol and a 1.5-litre three-pot strong-hybrid motor. The latter has a claimed mileage of 27.97 kmpl, making it the most fuel-efficient vehicle under Rs 20 lakh.

  4. Maruti Suzuki Grand VitaraThe Grand Vitara is the close sibling of the Hyryder, with differences being mainly on the exterior. Maruti offers the same powertrain options for the SUV as Toyota, which means it also has a claimed mileage figure of 27.97 kmpl.

  5. Maruti Suzuki CelerioThe Celerio has been a mileage champion for the while now.. The second-gen model was released last year featuring an all-new design and updated features.The hatchback is powered by a 1-litre three-cylinder K10C engine, churning out 66 bhp and 89 Nm of peak power and torque. Maruti claims a figure of 25 kmpl for the Celerio.

  6. Honda City e:HEVHonda launched the City e:HEV hybrid in India last year and is currently the only hybrid offeringin its segment. It uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine that’s mated to 2 electric motors.Combined, the City e:HEV claims an impressive mileage figure of 26.5 kmpl.

  7. Maruti Suzuki Wagon RIt’s no surprise that most of the entrants in this list are from Maruti since they make some of themost frugal cars. The Wagon R rounds off this list with its claimed figure of 25.19 kmpl with the1.0-litre manual variants or 24.35 kmpl for the AMT models. Even the larger 1.2-litre petrol motor when mated to a manual has a claimed fuel-efficiencyfigure of 24.43 kmpl and 23.56 kmpl if paired to the AMT.
