Kitchens can be such hectic places, full of various bits of machinery and equipment, and often seeing a lot of footfall throughout the day and can prove tricky to keep clean. However, with a little guidance and a plan to stick to, there’s no reason why your kitchen can’t be clean and tidy every day of the week: Get rid of clutter from all counters: Kitchen are often cluttered and seeing what needs to be cleaned can be tough. Start by clearing as many surfaces as you can and removing any items that don’t belong there. This can be a great opportunity for not only tidying up but getting rid of any unwanted food items. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to stand back and see what you need to clean.
Wipe down the tops of all cupboards and cabinets: Always begin at the top of the room (and this applies to all home cleaning) and then you’ll only have to clean your floor once. Dust the tops of all cabinets, cupboards and other items such as refrigerators, and wipe them down with a damp, soapy sponge if necessary. Grab your favorite cleaning solution and spray it on your stove: If any dust or debris have fallen onto your stove at this point, wipe it off and then squirt the entire surface with a liberal dose of your favorite cleaning solution. Leave it to sit for a few minutes and you’ll find that the surface will be much easier to clean later.
Wipe down all surfaces As you’ve started dusting from the top, you can now work your way down and dust or wipe down all surfaces and cabinet doors, countertops, light fixtures etc. A general, all-purpose cleaner should do the job nicely. Clean the stove top: Since the cleaning solution that you sprayed onto your stove top has been sitting there for a few minutes, you should now be able to wipe it down with less effort. For more stubborn stains, you may need to scrub a little harder, and once you’ve done, wipe it all down with a little white vinegar on a sponge to help clean it even further and get it shining like new.
Wash the sink: Be careful not to use too harsh a scrubbing tool on your sink, but at the same time you will need to give it a light scrub to get rid of all the stains and germs. Liquid detergent should do the job, and you can even rub it over with a lemon for an even shinier, fresher smelling effect. Lastly, clean the floors: Begin by sweeping the entire kitchen floor with a broom (or use a vacuum cleaner if you prefer) and then fill a bucket with warm, soapy water and plenty of your favorite floor cleaning solution. Dip your mop in and clean until all stains have been removed and your floor look good enough to eat your dinner off!
