2. If you are working on or near the roadway you will require some form of traffic control. Depending on how close the worksite is to the road and the impact that the works will have on traffic using the roadway –the traffic control may be as minor as a few signs or could be more complex speed reductions or closures. In order to place traffic signs and devices on the road reserve you will require a Traffic Guidance Scheme or a Traffic Management Plan or a Traffic Control PlanQueensland. You may also need a road occupancy permit from the road owner –which would be either the Local Council, Vic Roads, Transport and Main Roads or Roads and MaritimeServices. Wehave a Team of in-house Managers that are all fully qualified Traffic Controllers or Traffic Management Designers and have many years’ experience in designing plans and obtaining approval. If you work within or close to the road reserve without traffic control or the required Traffic Guidance Scheme, Traffic Control Plan or Traffic Management Plan and also without the appropriate permit or approval to do so you risk at the very minimum –substantial fines and worse –risk causing accidents to the road and footpath users and you are putting your workers or sub-contractors at risk.
