I remember the first time I was driving home from a far location. This was one of the scariest days of my life. The reason this day was so terrifying is that I had my first flat tire. I was miles from home, and where the flat tire occurred was while I was in the middle lane of a busy intersection. The popping of the tire was so loud and then I swerved. Luckily I missed the cars nearby, and was able to pull into the right lane to address the situation. I then called a tow truck and was towed to a nearby mechanic. To my surprise the reason for the flat tire was that there wasn’t enough air in the tire. I thought to myself I could have avoided all this if I just paid a bit more attention to the pressure in my car’s tires. This was a lesson I wasn’t going to forget anytime soon. Hopefully with this knowledge you can avoid making the same mistake I did. Your wallet and personal safety will thank you.

The first thing that drivers should do before driving is taking a test of the air pressure in their tires.
A tire gauge can be purchased at any local automotive store or gas station for less than $10 usually.
After testing your tires if you find out that one of them is low on air the first thing you need to do is check the psi limit on the side of the tire or in your car manual.
The next step is to fill the air in your tires to the correct level with an air pump.
If one isn’t available drivers can sometimes drive slowly to a local gas station to use one there.
Once each tire is properly inflated drivers are good to go to their destination.
There are also benefits to keeping the tire pressure at an optimal level.
The first and possibly most important one is the safety it provides to drivers, their passengers, other drivers, and pedestrians.
There is also a financial benefit to keeping the proper pressure in your vehicles tires.
With proper inflation drivers can often get better gas mileage when driving.
This means that drivers can go to the pump less to fill up their tanks.
