The first step to begin your scuba dive certification is digital learning you can start anytime at your home or anywhere at your convenience before visiting the Andaman Islands for in-water training. You will have to register yourself with the SSI app and pay INR 2500 per person to unlock your digital learning material to begin your learning. The following 6 sections have the e-learning material 1. Your body and the aquatic environment 2. Using your life support equipment underwater 1. Breathing gas and its effects on your body 2. The value of a dive buddy and executing your dives 3. The ocean and your diving opportunities 4. Your scuba diving experiences and beyond In-water training It is a crucial part of completing your scuba diving certification. You will be briefed about the course structure, equipment briefing, and probable dive sites. It includes confined water training sessions and actual dives along with scuba dive 20 skills. Your scuba dive instructor teaches and lets you practice each and every skill to make you confident and comfortable for a scuba dive adventure. The SSI open water diver course includes 6 open water dives and certifies up to a maximum dive depth of 18 meters. You will need at least 5 days considering one day as a buffer on the Island to complete the open water diver program. Day 1 and Day 2 2 shallow dives at the Nemo Reef dive site Day 3 2 deep dives at Tribe Gate and red pillar Day 4 2 deep dives at the wall and slope Note: The dive sites may be subject to change depending on boat availability and dive or weather conditions.
