  1. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Views About International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

  2. What is Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking • Drug abuse refers to the harmful or dangerous substances that impair the brain (including alcohol and illicit drugs). • Drug abuse may lead to (dependence syndrome), which involves a cluster of physiological, behavioural, and cognitive phenomena in which the use of substances takes on a much higher priority for a given individual. • It usually includes a strong desire or sense of compulsion to take the substance despite its harmful consequences, as well as a physiological withdrawal state. • In 1987 the General Assembly decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

  3. "Unless we reduce demand for illicit drugs, we can never fully tackle cultivation, production or trafficking. Governments have a responsibility to counteract both drug trafficking and drug abuse, but communities can also make a major contribution. Families, schools and civil society can do their part to rid their communities of drugs. Businesses can help provide legitimate livelihoods. The media can raise awareness about the dangers of narcotics.”- UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, June 2011.

The youth are becoming physically unfit and unproductive because of drugs. When the children and youth are entrapped in intoxicants, the country will clearly spiral downwards. Also, it is well known that the trade in drugs is fuelling narco-terrorism. This is clearly a war that the whole world needs to win in order to defeat terrorism as well.

  11. Rallies Against Social Evils Dera Sacha Sauda conduct rallies against social evils for public awareness. Save the girl child. Female feticide is a sin. Every girl child’s murder is a serious blunder. Drug abuse is life abuse. Dowry system is a nuisance, save woman from its appearance. Don’t cut the trees, save the earth, agreed! Save water and nature, secure well being in future. Prostitution and homosexuality are pollutant, stop these this very instant. Stop spread of evil storm, go for social reform. Use of such slogans across the country during rallies highlights the social reform program of Dera Sacha Sauda.
