  1. The Evolutions of the Milking Machine The first version, of unknown origin, imitated the manual gesture: it was to realize a robot able to recreate the movements automatically. However, these first rudimentary machines worked poorly, as they did not fit properly at all udder sizes. A second method was then envisaged; to create a machine reproducing the gesture of suction exercised by a calf. An inventor decided to develop such a machine: it is equipped with a cup to be fixed on the teat and a pulsator, which sends rhythmic pulsations allowing the aspiration of the milk. The first machines suffer from a problem of aggressiveness; by dint of milking in this way, the udders of the cows become painful, and blood can flow. Moreover, it is always essential that a farmer put the machine on each udder of the cow.

  2. Progressively, the milking machine improves: it is now able to alternate between sucking phase and massage phase, making milking for the cow painless. Moreover, since 2000s, there is fully automatic double bucket milking machine, requiring no human intervention. This practice has become widespread thanks to that inventor who advertised it all over the world and the milking of cows is now mainly carried out by the double bucket milking machine.
