  3. What is MCA The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) provides the regulatory andadministrative framework for corporates in order to make them effectivecontributors to national development. The Ministry envisions to be a facilitator ofworld class governance of corporates through the administration of theCompanies Act, 2013, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, Competition Act,2002 and certain other allied statutes.

Digital Signature Certificate The Information Technology Act, 2000 has provisions for use of Digital Signatures on the documents submitted in electronic form in order to ensure the security and authenticity of the documents filed electronically. This is secure and authentic way to submit a document electronically. As such, all filings done by the companies/LLPs under MCA21 e-Governance programme are required to be filed using Digital Signatures by the person authorised to sign the documents.

Who Should Register The DSC on the MCA Portal Any person who is a Director of a Company, a Designated Partner of an LLP, or a Professional A Chartered Accountant  or Company Secretary must register DSC on the MCA portal to file forms. If a DSC is not registered on the MCA portal, the person would not be able to file any forms. As a Director’s or Partner’s DSC is required for filing annual returns and various other documents, it’s essential to register the DSC on the MCA portal after Incorporation

Registration of DSC on MCA Portal • Visit the MCA Portal • Click on the ‘MCA Services’ • click on the ‘Associate DSC’ button • select the role as ‘Director’ from the drop-down list. • enter the DIN/DPIN • Fill in the required details • Enter the email address and click on the ‘Select Certificate’ button • Select/tick the ‘Declaration’ and click on the ‘Submit’ button. • digital signature and enter the DSC password.  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button
