  1. Why Diversity Is Key To Development You must’ve heard,‘Variety is the spice of life,’ right? That transcends to everything we do. We rarely want the same repetitive play of things. Take a look at our lifestyle. What excites us, inspires us and makes our emotions ebb and flow don’t come from just one sourceor one homogenous group. It’s not possible. The same is true at our workplace. We want an eclectic mix of people. Diversity is defined as the important and interrelated dimensions of human identity such as race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, socio-economic status, nationality, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, ability and age. These different threads weave communities together and makeup an exquisite fabric. Diversity is the cornerstone to human development. The United Nations celebrates World Diversity Day every year on May 21. Celebrated since 2002, the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development acknowledges the richness of the world’s cultures and harnesses the potential of culture, as a means of achieving prosperity, sustainable development and global peaceful coexistence. Embracing cultural diversity is an important aspect of every organization. At Rahi Systems, we value this as one of our core competencies. Acknowledging and factoring in cultural diversity, facilitates our efficiency in working with teams in multiple countries. It makes us more agile in adapting to the local context.
