  1. Perfiloplastia Or Profile Surgery To Provide Harmony And Balance To The Face

  2. In ensuring that there is balance and harmony to the face, profile surgery will be necessary.

  3. This involves a complete assessment of the facial features to see which one or if all needs an augmentation. Rhinoplasty involves a modification of the nasal structure for example and there are other likely amendments to consider such as to the chin, cheeks, neck and even forehead.

  4. When a walk-in patient requests for a rhinoplasty operation, the surgeon will usually sit the patient down in front of a mirror and an analysis of the patient’s face is done in the fully view of the patient in order for the patient to be aware of what can and will be done in surgery and the likely outcome; a pre-operative plan is therefore drawn up.

  5. In rhinoplasty modifications can be made to the tip, back, wings or columella of the nose. Closed rhinoplasty is done through the nasal cavity or nostrils and leaves no scarring, this is a preferred surgical method for most surgeons.

  6. Patients are given a thorough orientation before the rhinoplasty operation to remove any preconceptions that an old nose will simply be replaced with a brand new one. This is far from the truth as it is the same nose of the patient that is augmented.

  7. Those patients with unrealistic expectations are not suitable for this type of procedure while those patients who believe that their look and insecurity can be greatly improved through science and by plastic surgery are usually preferred candidates for this operation.

  8. In profile or perfiloplastia surgery the rhinoplasty is performed first, after which the chin is modified. The lower third party of the face of a patient is enhanced by chin modification and rhinoplasty.

  9. Perfiloplastia usually takes about an hour and thirty minutes to complete. It will involve the administration of local anesthesia and sedation. It may include a lipo gill or softening of the forehead and also an increase in the malar area or cheekbones and this may require about thirty minutes of time to execute.

  10. Perfiloplastia involves a combination of other procedures such as malar implants, rhinoplasty, bichectomy, orthognathic and orthodontic surgery.

  11. Just like in most surgeries the recommended minimum age for operation is 18 years of age. A full medical profiling and tests will be conducted before the operation to ascertain the fitness of the patient for the surgery.

  12. All patients with underlining health issues that is deemed by the surgeon as being capable of adversely affecting the outcome of the various cosmetic surgical operations that will be performed on the patient’s face during profile surgery will be told they cannot proceed with the surgery and why.
