An audiogram is a hearing test. This test is used to diagnose and to monitor hearing loss. During this test, the audiologist/doctor can assess the sound thresholds at which the patient can hear various frequencies. This can help determine whether the hearing loss is conductive or sensorineural.
https://www.entfamily.com/audiogram
HEARING LOSS Hearing loss is a spectrum that ranges from mild to profound. Hearing loss can occur due to conductive problems (i.e. ear wax, ear drum perforation, trauma to the ear bones etc) or can be due to injury to the hearing nerve (sensorineural hearing loss – SNHL). Some causes of SNHL include but are not limited to congenital defect, exposure to loud noise, ototoxic medications, injury or due to aging. Hearing loss presents with the inability to hear sound (typically high-frequency but can occur at any frequency). For some patients, steroids, surgery or hearing devices may be helpful.
