As the trip makes you cover the natural mountainous wilderness of Tibet, you could expect to explore the wild side of Tibet as well. On the tour, you will also get to explore the centuries old heritages of Tibet. All of these aspects contribute to making the journey a complete one. December 2014 October 2014 April 2014 Kailash Mansarovar Mount Kailash is also known as Gang Rinpoche. It is a holy mountain with a height of 6638 m. The mountain is considered sacred in four religions – Bon, Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism. Because of this stature, mountaineers are not allowed to climb on top of it. Situated at a close proximity from the mountain is Lake Mansarovar. The lake is also called MapamYumtso, and quite like Mount Kailash, it is also considered sacred in the four religions mentioned earlier. It is a fresh water lake and is situated at an altitude of 4590 m. The lake remains frozen for a couple of months during winter season. Every year pilgrims and tourists, the ones who follow the religion and also the ones who don’t, from all over the world, come to this region and visit these two sacred attractions. These two gems of nature are situated in a serene and beautiful setting that makes both of them appear stunning. One must visit the area. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Though both Kailash and Mansarovar are situated in Tibet, Kailash Mansarovar Yatra starts either from Nepal or China. In Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, the main attraction, without a doubt are Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake. While you’re there, you can explore the entire Lake Mansarovar Area by hiking. Altogether, it’s a 16 days long journey, and during this time, you cover places such as Lhasa, Shigatse, Saga, Dongba, Darchen, Dirapuk and Zuthulpuk. Though the journey keeps you within mainland China, which also includes Tibet, you get to understand the diversity in culture followed by people living here. These cities are full of centuries old religious and cultural heritages, and other attractions that are sure to excite you during the journey. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Kerung Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Kerung is a 14 days long journey. The journey starts from Nepal, and the major places that you’ll cover in Nepal are Kathmandu, Syabrubesi and Timure. Syabrubesi and Timure are beautiful villages in the Langtang Region of Nepal. On the fourth day, you cross the Nepal China border and reach the city of Kerung. In Tibet, the places that you’ll cover are Saga, Darchen, Dirapuk and Zuthulpuk; all of them are culturally rich places, with so many things to see and explore. Throughout the journey, you’ll either drive or trek to reach your destination. You take the same route to return to Nepal. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Lhasa Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Lhasa covers the capitals of the two countries – Nepal and Tibet, which are Kathmandu and Lhasa respectively. Both are ancient cities that are filled with heritages such as centuries old temples, palaces, museums and so on. Starting from Kathmandu, altogether, it’s a 15 days long journey, and during this time, you cover places such as Shigatse, Saga, Derapuk, Darchen and Zuthulpuk, along with the capitals. Needless to say, the main attractions of the journey are Kailash Mansarovar. On the trip, you will either fly or drive to your destinations. You will also get to hike and take side trips.

  5. Kailash Mansarovar Helicopter Tour Kailash Mansarovar Helicopter Tour is a 12 days long journey. While you might think that the entire journey is covered in a helicopter, it’s not quite so. The journey starts from Nepal, and the places that you cover in Nepal include Kathmandu, Nepalgunj, Simikot and Hilsa. Only the distance between Simikot and Hilsa is covered in a helicopter, on two occasions, while going to Kailash Mansarovar, and in terms of returning. You also fly, first from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, and from Nepalgunj to Simikot, but not in the helicopter, rather, in a plane. While returning as well, you take a flight between these three places. In Tibet, you cover places like Taklakot, Darchen , Derapuk and Zuthulpuk. In Tibet, you will drive, and occasionally hike, to reach your destination each day. Quite like other Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, the main attraction of the journey is Mansarovar exploration and Kora around Kailash.
