  1. My ESC experience Emilia Wiewióra

  2. The beginning After finishing my studies, I did a 4-month internship in a veterinary clinic in sunny Tenerife. As my time on the island slowly came to an end, I began to think about various options to stay in my beloved Spain for a little longer. Unfortunately, my Spanish was not at the level that would allow me to find a job without any problems. I learned about the possibility of being a volunteer in the European Solidarity Corps project from my Italian friend, who at the same time was doing an internship in an office dealing with writing projects for volunteers. It was on her advice that I decided to review the available offers and after seeing the annual project in Malaga, I decided to apply without thinking about it.

  4. Helping teachers at school In first few months my main task was to assist teachers during lessons in local schools. Kids at the school werebetwen 5-12 years old.

  5. City run El Torcal La Paz Málaga In the beggining of October our organization was organizing city run. We handed out starter kits for participants (T-shirts and small gadgets), and helped in coordinating the run working with the emergency services.

  6. Easter and summer camp During the Christmas break and after the end of the school year, we supported our organization El Torcal in running a camp for children from families at risk of exclusion (including immigrants). Our activities consisted of playing outdoors and at the headquarters of our association, trips to the cinema, to the beach and to the water park.

  7. Social media Most time of my project I was working in the office of our organization. I was responsible for handling social Instagram and Twitter). I was making posts about activities performed in our assocacion. Also posts about important holidays and important people. media (Facebook,

  8. Awareness campaign The El Torcal Neighborhood Association launched an awareness campaign whose objective was to avoid unwanted loneliness in the elderly, this reality can have a devastating effect on the physical and mental health and quality of life of this group of population. The initiative was born with the purpose of linking the group in the life of the community, for this, we are going to collaborate with local businesses in the area, such as pharmacies, supermarkets, bars, shops, etc. to generate empathic, participatory and supportive attitudes. Thus, after chatting with the participants and disseminating this information in their businesses, those neighbors who detect a significant change in the social dynamics of older people will contact them individually or put this situation in the knowledge of professionals.

  9. International Women's Day On the occasion of International Women's Day, we organized an event in which, firstly, we shared reflections on the documentary "a full-fledged revolution" and, secondly, we created protest banners for the #8m demonstration This socio-community activity was attended by international volunteers, professionals and people from the neighborhood.
