  2. About Have a Dream Have a Dream is a company offering Egyptians the opportunity to volunteer and travel abroad. The enterprise was founded in 2014 to allow young Egyptians to leave their comfort zones and discover different countries.

  3. Tasks of the volunteer The main responsibility of the volunteer was to carry out the recruitment processes for the volunteering programmes offered by HaD in different parts of the world. The tasks included: Reviewing and grading the applications submitted by potential candidates. Scheduling and conducting interviews with the selected candidates. Providing feedback regarding interviews and applications. Providing accepted candidates with further information regarding payments, timelines, administrative procedures as well as visas and coordinating with them their preparations for the travel. ● ● ● ●

Further tasks Additionally, I was responsible for: Creating infopacks on the programmes offered by Have a Dream in Canva Preparing recruitment statistics Research of prospective cooperation partners Preparation of Memorandums of Understandings for cooperation with other organisations as well as review and preparation of financial statements of Have a Dream ● ● ● ●

  5. Arabic classes As a part of the volunteering experience, I also participated in Arabic classes.

  6. FabLab Every week I would spend one day in FabLab where I learnt about 3D printing, milling and CNC machines.

  7. Couchsurfing event Along with other volunteers from France, we organised an event for the Couchsurfing community.

  8. Travelling Of course, there was also time for travelling. I tried to use my free time to get out of Cairo and discover different places in the country.

  9. Free time I also participated in a felucca party and Eid celebrations during my free time.

  10. The food Obviously, as a foodie, I also had to try some of the local specialities.
