  1. A Day in the Life of a Seton Hall Student Athlete by: Jocelyn Dumaresq Women’s Soccer

  2. A normal Wednesday begins at 7:20 when I wake up in my dorm room. Here are our desks. I have spent many long hours at mine! Here is my roommate’s bed. The bathroom is around the corner.

  3. 7:40: My roommate and I leave Xavier, our dormitory, and head to practice. Xavier is the red building. I live on the second floor, to the left of the picture.

  4. Before going to the field, we go into the recreational center (the Rec) to pick up our gear and practice clothing. This is the outside of the Rec. Inside the Rec: we practice here in the winter and on rainy days

  5. Getting ready to practice! The team outside on Ivy Field Emily, Nadine and Kimmy: from Minnesota, England and California

  6. Practice goes from 8am to 10am. It is competitive and tough, but always fun. Here is a teammate doing a diving header. My roommate is about to save the ball. My coach: Betty Ann Kempf

  7. Uhoh…It’s almost 10am! I have to run to my class! This is Fahy Hall. I have my first class of the day (Women in Literature) here from 10-11:15.

  8. 11:30am: After class it’s time to go back to the Rec where I have my individual training session. My assistant coach, Michele Canning, works with me to improve my heading technique in the racquetball courts.

  9. 1:00pm: After a very short break for lunch, it’s time to go to class again! This is Kozlowski Hall. I have a 1-2:15pm World Religion class here. This is one of the newest buildings on campus. Can you see the statue of Elizabeth Ann Seton?

  10. 2:30pm: Time to go back to the Rec for lifting. The Varsity weight room. Only athletes are allowed in here. We have two certified trainers who make up our lifting program.

  11. 5:00pm: Time to shower, change and meet a few of my friends in the cafeteria for dinner. The varsity locker room where we dress and prepare for games. The cafeteria. Always a good place to relax …if you can find something edible!

  12. 5:45: My last class of the day! This is Corrigan Hall. I have a night class (Drug and Alcohol Abuse) here from 5:45- 8:15pm. The class is required for my major in education.

  13. 8:30pm: Finally! My day is almost over! Now it’s time to go to the library to study and do my homework. This is Walsh Library. It has four floors of books and many quiet places to study for long hours…especially during finals!

  14. 11pm: Now my day is really over! I return to my room where my roommate and I relax! My roommate Buffy! She is from Germany and plays keeper on our team. Can you tell what her favorite animal is?

  15. Time for bed. It has been a long day and tomorrow I have to do it all over again! See you on the field!
