What is the Circle? The Circle of Latina Leadership was founded by Juana Bordas,in 2000,with the mission to, “Preparethe next generation of leaders.” Latinas have a unique role to play in this advancement. They are the heart of the family, keepers of culture and faith, and active community volunteers. As the Latino community continues to grow, a greater number of Latina leaders are needed and the CLL is committed to fulfilling this growing need.
Who is the Circle? • The Circle targets Latinas: • Who are at least 25 years old and are emerging community and grass roots leaders • Who have a past history of community involvement and volunteerism • Who aspire to make a greater contribution • The program includes women from the corporate sector, nonprofits, education, government, and volunteers. • Ideal candidates: • Want to learn and improve their skills • Are committed to work for the advancement of the Hispanic community

The relationship helps the mentee… • Determine Goals • Identify Opportunities in their Career/Community • Network • By providing resources • Community Action Projects (CAP) • These are projects developed and implemented by participants. Each woman is challenged to find innovative ideas to address what are sometimes old issues facing our community and to put the skills they have developed into action.
