Goals need to be personal –not some one else’s idea of what you should accomplish. Goal setting is all about setting your sights on something you wish to achieve or change. You then make a plan --and move toward that result. Motivation Goal Setting
But, first, you must know what is in your control to fix or change !!!
You must be able to make realistic assessments of what is within your ability to change –and what is not. Too often, we attempt to fix what we cannot or should not.
A clear goal has to be realistic. It should be challenging, yet attainable. Set high goals –but make sure they are within your reach otherwise you are dooming yourself for failure.
A clear goal must have a road map. Simplify the goal into manageable and bite-size steps. Once you have a long-range goal, you will need some short and midrange steps to achieve it.
No matter how small your goal, you will have to deal with obstacles, problems, setbacks. And there is no doubt that these obstacles will discourage you and may even cause you to give up on your goal. So prepare yourself for these obstacles. Dealing with obstacles
