The Standard Process of Dissolved Air Flotation Water Treatment in Adelaide Adelaide’s dissolved air ?otation water treatment works by separating suspended solids and lighter liquid contaminants from water using air bubble ?otation. Air is dissolved into water, mixed with the waste stream and released from the solution while in intimate contact with the contaminants. Air bubbles attach to the solid contaminants, increasing their buoyancy and ?oating them to the water’s surface. The pollutants are then mechanically skimmed and removed from the tank. We then recycle and super-saturate the clean e?uent with air mixed with the wastewater in?uent and inject it into the DAF separation chamber. The recycle stream combines and mixes with incoming wastewater in an internal contact chamber where dissolved air comes out of the solution in the form of ?ne bubbles that attach to the contaminants. The bubbles and the contaminants rise to the surface and are removed by a surface skimmer into an internal hopper.
