Why would you consider using this system? Not every boiler system is designed for the same application, so there are some important facts to consider before making a purchase. Condensing happens ONLY when return water temperatures to the boiler are between 130-140F because the dew point of the exhaust gases is typically in the range of 135F. Boiler cycling is a major cause to both excessive fuel usage and lower boiler equipment lifespan. A hybrid boiler system requires advanced PID controls to function properly. That with enough attention to the loads present, a hybrid system is a viable design for both new construction and retrofits. Condensing boilers are 20-50% more costly (BTU for BTU) than their non-condensing counterparts.
