Technical specification: Environmental Barrier of this specification has a density of 26.5 kg/m2 and achieves a Weighted Sound Reduction in excess of 29Db A in Laboratory tests. All timber materials sourced from a FSC, QA Sector Scheme 4a approved supplier. Lateral Timber Movement The design of the panels should avoid gaps occurring under operational conditions, such as shrinkage and warping. Natural timber movement is not prevented since boards are free to expand and contract naturally and therefore splitting and gaps do not occur. Special ring shank nails (in stainless steel) prevent removal of cover strips and boards by vandalism. Standard detail drawing: “If timber is used for panels, the minimum design thickness should be based on the seasoned dry weight of the timber. A gravel board of durable material will be needed if the panels are made of material likely to deteriorate when in contact wit the ground.” The above specification is the property of Gramm Barrier Systems Ltd.
