  1. Safety features to make truck driving safer

  2. Introduction DO NOT ever overlook safety features during your drive. Remember, a step today can save you a lot of hassle for tomorrow. It can also save a life. Here’s a rundown of a few basic safety feature that most trucks should have.

  3. Antilock brakes Antilock brakes (ABS) enable truck drivers to retain the control of their steering even after braking. This makes it possible for them to maneuver their vehicles easily around an obstacle as per requirement. ABS can work exquisitely on slippery surfaces thereby providing you with more safety during the drive.

  4. Airbags Front air bags had already been in use since 1998. These bags inflate in milliseconds and then immediately start deflating after absorbing all the impact. Airbags can really save lives. It’s an integral part of safety.

  5. Electronic StabilityControl Electronic stability control (ESC) can greatly improve your truck’s traction control system. This system helps to keep your truck on its intended path preventing it from any form of skidding or sliding.

  6. Inflatable Safety Belt Seat belts are definitely one of the most important pieces of safety equipments but inflatable belts take it a step further. Inflatable safety belts further helps to reduce the force of impact (occurring from the collision and the belt itself) on the driver.

  7. Automatic Emergency Braking The automatic emergency braking technology (AEB) can sense the occurrence of a potential collision. If the driver doesn’t react in time to avoid the obstacle in front of the truck, the AEB can initiate automatic braking on its own.

  8. Pedestrian Detection The pedestrian detection technology uses the forward collision technology and the automatic emergency braking technology to protect pedestrians on the street.
