  1. App Annie How to use it for App Market Research

  2. Visit App Annie at www.appannie.com

  3. Enter the topic that you wanted to research on.

  4. We used “How to start a business” as an example.

  5. A list of Apps for that topic will appear.

  6. Click on the App title to research further on it.

  7. Here is the App Display Screen.

  8. Check the release date here.

  9. See the total number of places it’s featured on.

  10. It will open this page.

  11. Click a location to expand it.

  12. View the Daily Ranks through the sidebar tab.

  13. This is how the Daily Ranks page looks like.

  14. The default date is today.

  15. The default market is IPhone.

  16. Click the dropdown to change it to Ipad.

  17. Here are the various rankings.

  18. Log in to view the Highest Ranks.

  19. List of Highest Ranking.

  20. It’s listed by country.

  21. It shows the location and date when it’s achieved.

  22. This indicates that it’s a free App.

  23. Let’s try a different App idea : Lightsaber.

  24. This app has a high number of downloads.

  25. Scroll down to check the entire listing.

  26. This is one way to use App Annie.

  27. Another way is to spy on your competitors /fellow developers.

  28. And look into their Marketing Tactics.

  29. Let’s switch to another app.

  30. Select the Rank History at the sidebar.

  31. This is how it looks like.

  32. Set the time range to All Time.

  33. Change App Stores here.

  35. The Blue line signify the overall ranking.

  36. Red dots signify that an important event had occurred.

  37. This shows that the version update equaled to increased ranking.

  38. While continued version updates caused a drop in the rankings.

  39. Also, a Name Change caused an increase in their rankings.

  42. One interesting event here is the change of Pricing Points.
