  1. Rental Walk-Through Checklist Looks & appearances can sometimes prove to be deceiving, so ensure that you re-check the rental home completely before closing the deal. Here's a checklist to help you with the rental walk-through. Check whether door and window locks are properly working. Examine the walls & ceilings for any kind of cracks or molds. Water heater is well-maintained and set to a safe temperature. Make sure that all the electrical appliances are working efficiently. There is sufficient parking space in front of the house. The floor tiles should not be cracked or uneven. Ensure that smoke & carbon monoxide detectors are in working condition. The caulking should be tight and free of mildew.
