EXPORT DOCUMENTATION THE IMPEX WAY Exporters all around the world struggle with the complexities and intricacies of export documentation every single day and exporters in Australia are no exception. The important documents are the following: • Export declaration number: The number generated after all the information about a particular shipment has been filed. This is provided by the Integrated Cargo System which is under the Australian Custom Service. • Pre-Receival advice: Information about the shipment that is required at the shipping terminal that is its destination. • Certificate of origin: Declaring that all the goods in the shipment are made or procured from that particular country of origin.

As such, if even one link goes missing, the entire chain of processes will be stalled. So, for example, if the exporter remembers to get the export declaration number and pre-receival advice but fails to get the certificate of origin, there will be no leniency given for it from the export authorities and the shipment will still get delayed or worse still, stalled.
