Types of arguments that can be presented in an essay
1 CLASSICAL- Outline the main conflict, state your perspective, and provide supporting facts to convince the reader that your position is the right one. The Aristotelian method of argumentation, which is frequently utilized, is the most popular since it is the clearest. When your audience is uninformed or doesn't have strong opinions about your subject, it works well because it offers the information in an understandable and precise manner.
2 ROGERIAN-Briefly summarises the problem for the reader, identify the opposing opinion, provide your own, and then explain why it is the best course of action. This style of argument works effectively for contentious matters because it honors both points of view and provides the middle ground.
3 TOULMIN- Describe your claim, offer evidence to back it up, and then explain how the evidence relates to your claim. This style of argument, which heavily relies on the information presented in a way that makes the claim difficult to refute, is also effective for contentious subjects. But rather than presenting both sides of the debate, it merely does one.
