4. Berlin Geothermal field: 56 MWe, started June-1999
10 Production wells: -900 to -1000 masl, Average: 8.2 MWe
18 Injection wells: -1200 to -1500 masl, Ranging 7-120 kg/s
No injection pumps to force water into injection wells
Hot and cold injection lines: Low and high Injection pressures: 15,23 barg
Some cases individual injection wells: alternatively hot and cold injectate, according to the need.
Challenge: Increase generation from 49 to 56 MW Introduction
5. Injection wells intrinsically low permeability therefore permeability later created by hydrofracturing
Few fractures encountered
Fractures sealed with minerals
Presence of dykes filling in the fractures
Low permeability by solid particles transported from the production wells and silica fragments from the gathering system.
From year 2000-2006, 80% of wells with positive skin, have been cleaned. TR10, TR7 and TR1B skin wells:cleaned
Introduction
18. TOTAL INJECTION PROJECT
Pumping Station in pad TR1´s: Consists in a high pressure pumping station and it has three multistage horizontally axis pumps of 1300 HP each, Its nominal capacity is 220 kg/s and 75 bars.
Pumps are controlled by variable frequency drivers located at the same pad.
By the end of 2007, all the injection pads will be equipped with filters to keep silica particles from entering the injection wells.
