City Initiatives • Compact fluorescent, LED, and T8 fluorescent light bulbs • Green cleaning products • Eliminated bottled water in all City facilities • High-efficiency HVAC products • Eliminated use of aerosol products • Recycled paper for community newsletters • Paperless agenda packets for Council and Commission meetings

City Initiatives • Commercial franchise – Waste Management • Fewer waste collection vehicles needed for recycling and waste collection • As of January 1, 2010, CNG trucks will be the primary vehicle for the commercial franchise; CNG trucks contain 90% fewer pollutants than traditional fuel • Provides free recycling for program participants and makes it fiscally responsible to partake in the program • Since the program's inception, the recycling rate for the community has increased from 20%to over 40%
