May 25, 2024: 70-year-old Christian Nazir Masih was assaulted in Sargodha, Punjab, over false blasphemy claims, and died on June 12, 2024. The mob burned down Masih’s shoe shop and home, displacing his family. 02 PAKISTAN Systemic Persecution: Egypt’s Coptic Christians face ongoing systemic persecution. Church Attacks: In November 2023, a Coptic church in Cairo was bombed, killing 29 worshippers. Extremist Threat: The Islamic State claimed responsibility, highlighting persistent extremist threats.
