  1. Which Foods should you avoid buying at the airport

  2. When you are heading for a vacation after a long time, you have a lot to do. Ensuring you have packed all the necessary items of clothing, kept the essential travel documents, found the perfect parking nearby, and safely checked into your flight are critical concerns. In the midst of all this, it is difficult to remember to whip up a snack at the airport. And, it’s okay because the airports nowadays have upped their game by establishing fine dining cafes and restaurants. Still, there are some foods you should avoid buying and eating at the airport because of their low nutritional value and ill effects on health. Here is a list!

  3. Foods you should not buy at the airport Bowl of green salad: A leafy green salad may sound like a healthy diet and the perfect food choice for traveling, but you shouldn’t have it at the airport. It is so because the leafy greens can get contaminated with germs that cannot be removed when washed with water. They get stuck on the surface of the leaves and may even get inside. Thus, you may get sick if you eat the leaves without boiling them first.

  4. A large cup of coffee: A big cup of coffee may be what you need before your flight takes off early in the morning. Still, it would help if you held off. It is because caffeine may lead to jitters and make you rush to the washroom in a hurry. This may get exacerbated when you are 30,000 feet in the air. Moreover, coffee can also lead to insomnia and headache in some people, which is unsuitable for flyers considering getting some ZZZss on the flight.

  5. Salty French fries: Having salty French fries and pretzels makes you bloat on the ground. But, when you are 36,000 feet high, they are a recipe for disaster. It happens because the air pressure decreases when you are at higher altitudes. So, whatever gas is created when you eat this stuff will put more pressure on the bowel walls when altitudes rise. So, it would help if you avoided them at the airport. Sugary yogurt: When you need to grab a quick bite, you think of yogurt. It may seem like the right choice until you consider the sugar they contain. The delicious treat might aggravate your gut, so you should go for plain Greek yogurt, nuts, or chopped veggies.

  6. Cocktails: Before beginning the vacation, having a cocktail or a glass of wine may sound like the right thing to do before starting the journey, but having a few too many could put you at risk. Its effect on your body when you are in the air could be disastrous. This is because the barometer pressure in the cabin is low. It diminishes your ability to absorb oxygen which can cause lightheadedness, known as hypoxia. If you still decide to have alcohol before commencing your journey, remember to have water between drinks. The next time you wish to grab a quick bite at the airport after you have reached the premises and parked your car, avoid having these foods. These meals may disturb your digestive system and ruin your entire trip!
