Nine other countries in the EU already have schemes that recognise committed homosexual relationships. • Comment Michael Howard (opposition leader) in response to the Queen’s Speech attacked the Government from every angle apart from this one. As the DT put it “In one of the most revealing passages, he said that the Bill that would allow homosexual partnerships would address some genuine grievances that are acknowledged on all sides of the house.” It appears therefore the only thing our political leaders can agree on is the promotion of homosexual ways. There were 286,000 weddings in 2001 compared with 408,000 in 1950, according to figures issued yesterday by the Office for National Statistics. Comment Lowest number of marriages since records began! We must not succumb to worldly thinking that all is well if people want to live together and are not married. It used to be called ‘living in sin’. Another word is fornication. Let us, while watching these things deteriorate, not weaken our position that this is wrong and one more sign we live in the last days. Headline DT 12 February Gay couples marry as city defies law Headline DT 14 February Event The Church of England moved closer to relaxing its policy on homosexuality yesterday after the overwhelming majority of speakers in the General Synod debate urged greater tolerance. In a series of hasty ceremonies, 87 homosexual couples were married in San Francisco as the city authorities challenged state law and became the first in America to issue same-sex marriage licenses. Comment We see the world becoming more like Sodom and Gomorrah each day. Though we do not like like to dwell on these things as they revile us as they do our Lord God, we need to be aware and watching so that we can warn others of the judgements that are coming on this earth. Children should be taught atheism • Headline Children should learn more about atheism and less about Jesus - DT 15 February Event The teaching of religious education in schools should be renamed spiritual education, with children being taught more about atheism and less about the life of Jesus and the 10 Commandments, according to the Government's favourite think-tank. The lessons should be widened to include "non-religious belief systems", a report by the Institute For Public Policy Research says. It calls for equal weight to be given to agnosticism and humanism as is given to Christianity. • Comment As someone pointed out in the article you can learn all you need to know about atheism in a few minutes. Atheism and humanism – they are indeed the new religions of the world. The article even goes on to say that children who have been taught a belief by parents will be made to question their belief and doubt it. The Archers, "an everyday story of country folk", is to feature its first gay kiss. Britain's longest running radio show has decided that the time is right to tackle what, for it at least, is the ultimate taboo. Comment Though this is stomach churning we need to ‘watch’ for such things - Paul warns us to be vigilant. The escalation of immorality in the world has even in the last few months with “gay marriages” in America been incredible. The Archers, (for those living in other countries who read this) is a BBC radio broadcast that goes out every afternoon and early evening. It is about country folk (farmers etc) living in a made up place in Britain called Ambridge. Despite it being Britain's longest running radio show it is still listened to by millions of people including many pre school children. The world is terribly sick and only our Lord can heal it. Archbishop comments Headline Atheist view can help believers, says Archbishop Headline DT 31 March Event Studying atheism is the key to improving understanding between faiths, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, said yesterday. Speaking in America, Dr Williams said that, although it sounded paradoxical, the way atheists viewed religion could help believers understand how they saw each other. Comment If this was published a day later I might have thought this was an April Fools joke. However it is not. The head of the Church of England says the KEY to improve understanding between faiths is studying atheism! Britain is now almost entirely bereft of any moral or religious leadership. The UK government this week published legislation that will give homosexual couples legal rights similar to married couples. The decline in morality in Britain is now astonishing but not unexpected. We are getting closer everyday to the return of our Lord Jesus. Top job for gay cleric Headline Top job for gay cleric Headline The Times 17 April Event The gay canon forced to stand down as Bishop of Reading is reportedly to be appointed to another senior position in the Church of England. The choice of Dr Jeffrey John as Dean of St Albans is likely to cause more controversy in the Anglican church around the world. Downing Street plans to announce the appointment on Tuesday, according to the Times. The job is one of the most senior in the Church of England. Comment We live in days of immorality. There has always been immorality some will say but we now have the so called religious rulers of the Church of England not only endorsing homosexuality but being homosexual themselves. Ministers in the Lords refused to take part in any further debate on the Civil Partnership Bill after peers voted to extend it to other couples, including carers and sisters who lived together.The Bill gives male and female homosexuals the right to form legally binding partnerships and enjoy the same tax and pension rights as married couples.Several bishops, argued that the Bill was discriminatory because it looked after the interests of same-sex couples only. Comment The breakdown of the family unit as a structure enshrined in the law of the UK is almost complete. The debate is now not whether gay/lesbians should have the same rights as married couples but why should others groups not have the same rights as well. This is the unclean spirit of the 3 frogs. (Rev 16:13). ‘We’ are promised freedom (Ex 8:8) but in fact this is a lie. These laws bring a slavery to sin. In fact in Psalm 78 quoted below the word “destroyed” means corrupted in a moral way. We see the moral corruption (this froglike spirit) prevailing now. Senate rejects ban on gay marriage Headline Senate rejects president’s plea to ban gay marriage Headline DT 14 July Event The US Senate rejected an appeal by George W Bush yesterday for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage. In a disappointment for Mr Bush and conservative Republicans, Democrats and some Republican rebels voted against even holding a vote on whether marriage should be defined as exclusively between a man and a woman. Comment They won’t even hold a vote on whether marriage is exclusively between a man and a woman! This is not because the answer is so obvious but because currently in America there are (as reported in the WWW) a growing number of instances where states are legally marrying gay people. By not allowing a vote allows this abhorrent situation to continue. We know it will only get worse so that the world in which we live becomes even more like the wicked and sinful cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. The Bible is totally clear. Marriage is only for a man and a woman and if ‘the world’ truly understood that marriage is a symbol of Christ and his ecclesia perhaps they would think differently. Let us, the true virgin ecclesia, wait for our bridegroom. Anglican church faces split Headline Church faces split as report fails to heal gays row Headline DT 19 October Event The future of the worldwide Anglican Church remained precarious last night after a report intended to heal divisions over homosexuality failed to reassure conservatives. The Windsor report challenged liberals to end their defiance of the majority view but imposed no serious sanctions on those involved in consecrating the Church’s first bishop to admit being a practising homosexual. The 120-page report, commissioned a year ago by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, provoked mixed reactions from protestors. One conservative archbishop said: “I am not optimistic for the future of Anglicanism.” Comment The article went on to say that that this debate masks a deeper question: which elements of Anglicanism - scripture, reason or tradition - should prevail? The answer is obvious to us. Scripture is God breathed. As soon as human reasoning or traditions are taken into account godless ways are soon in coming. The Lord God makes very clear what he thinks of homosexuality. We do not need a 120 page report to inform us! The moon is symbolic of religion in the scriptures. Historic upset in EU parliament Headline Cheering MEPs welcome Barroso climb-down Headline DT 28 October Event Faced with certain defeat by angry Euro-MPs, José Manuel Barroso yesterday withdrew his embattled team of European commissioners in an historic upset that profoundly alters the character of the European Union. "I have come to the conclusion that if a vote is taken today the outcome will not be positive for EU institutions or for the European project," he told both jeering and cheering MEPs in the packed chamber of the European Parliament. Comment This story is incredible. Euro MP’s (MEPs) have to vote in the proposed EU commissioners. However Italy’s commissioner, Rocco Buttiglione, made a comment a week ago that he believed homosexuality was a sin. A majority of MEPs decided therefore to vote against the whole commission because of this one mans belief of homosexuality being a sin. They cheered when the incoming commission president, Jose Barroso backed down. Italy has now withdrawn its commissioner. Europe it appears can only be run by people who do NOT believe that homosexuality is a sin. 15. ‘God gene’ discovered by scientist Headline ‘God gene' discovered by scientist behind gay DNA theory Headline DT 14 November Event Religious belief is determined by a person's genetic make-up according to a study by a leading scientist. After comparing more than 2,000 DNA samples, an American molecular geneticist has concluded that a person's capacity to believe in God is linked to brain chemicals. Growing up in a religious environment was said to have little effect on belief. Dr Hamer, who in 1993 claimed to have identified a DNA sequence linked to male homosexuality, said the existence of the "god gene" explained why some people had more aptitude for spirituality than others. Comment This theory is nonsense. Let us not be taken in. It supposes that humans cannot change. That we are pre-programmed with the outcome. The Bible makes clear that we have to fight against our lusts and worldly ways. Our ways are not God’s ways – His thoughts are higher than ours. But we cannot say I am sorry I am homosexual but you made me that way. We cannot say I am sorry I killed someone but you gave me a violent gene. The other point is that growing up with religious belief does have a huge effect. The Bible makes clear how important it is for the young to remember their Creator. Ministers private lives / no moral censure Headline Ministers free to pursue private lives without moral censure, says BlairDT 30 November Event Tony Blair has given his ministers unprecedented freedom to pursue their private lives free from moral censure to try to save David Blunkett's career. Although he came to power in 1997 promising a new era of integrity in politics, he repeatedly refused yesterday to pass judgment on the embarrassing allegations that have engulfed Mr Blunkett, his former lover Kimberly Quinn and their public battle over the paternity of her two-year-old son and unborn child. Comment This argument has been developing over some years now. It goes like this - What has a politicians private life to do with their political life? Private lives, says Tony Blair, should be free from moral censure! So in other words do what you like in private but in public do the right thing. This is hypocrisy and shows the depths to which the present rulers have sunk. We long for the time when we shall be ruled by a king who in all aspects of his life is righteous. The kingdom ‘beasts’ of the world will be destroyed. As Peter says below – they will perish in their own corruption. Church is imploding Headline Church is imploding, says Archbishop of YorkHeadline DT 5 December Event The Archbishop of York, Dr David Hope, has warned that the Anglican church is on the brink of "implosion" over the divisive issues of the ordination of homosexual clergy and women bishops. In an interview with The Telegraph on the eve of his retirement as the second most important clergyman in the Church of England, Dr Hope, 64, said that the Church's "fundamental Christian message" was in danger of being lost in the midst of disagreement over differences that were "neither here nor there". Comment We should not be surprised at these developments in the “last days”.In the rest of the article Dr Hope goes on to say that the above issues are NOT important. What is important is “bringing people to Jesus.” When asked about his own sexuality he said it was “a grey area”. Surely we are seeing the leaders causing the people to err. They no longer teach anything that can be called the gospel. The Bible is no longer important to them – it is human thinking that counts. We should watch ourselves, that we too are never taken in by these things. The verse below warns us.
