An important concept in computer programming and designing web applications is to perform effective testing that provides the information necessary to finalize the design and reduce its problems. One of the best tools for this purpose is Selenium, an excellent software testing framework. Selenium Grid is a key component of this platform. Here, we describe some of its important aspects, to help you understand its testing prowess. What is Selenium Grid? Selenium Grid is the portable server that empowers the testing on remote machines by using various web browser instances. The Grid works as the hub to connect the tests that are being conducted on different machines. Each testing phase occurs by first contacting the Grid to obtain each instance’s information.   3. The Architecture Selenium Grid follows a Hub and Nodes architecture. It employs the setting of a central hub that must be placed on a unique machine. This machine can have any configuration and will provide the base for all application tests. There can be any number of computers that can play the role of the nodes, and they can have any configuration of hardware, operating systems and web browsers. Selenium Grid can either be setup from the command line, indicating the hub and node information or started using a JSON configuration file. The Grid operation runs by using an available port on the nodal web browser to carry out the required testing operation. Load Distribution Selenium Grid is a server solution that distributes the load of browser application testing to several remote machines that are available. This decreases the strain on singular hardware components and also ensures that the application is tested on all types of platforms and operating systems.
