Unit 5B: Life Cycles Some useful words Stamen Style Stigma Sepal Petal Ovary Pollen Reproduction Germination Pollination Fertilisation Dispersal the pollen producing part of the flower where the pollen tubes grow a sticky section of the flower where the pollen lands the outermost section of the flower which is usually green and smaller than the petals usually the brightly coloured parts of the flower used to attract the insects this protects the ovule and once fertilisation has taken place it will become the fruit. minute grains, usually yellow in color organisms generate new individuals of the same kind when a seed starts to grow transfer of pollen from the stamen to a stigma the combining of cells, leading to reproduction when the seed leaves the flower V Unit 5B: Life Cycles: Vocabulary
