Purpose • Prepare MCC laboratory. • Remote access to three telescopes. - MCC lab telescope - MCC summit telescope - Faulkes Telescope • Data and Images saved to Network Attached Storage
Faulkes Telescope Project • Education arm of Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network (LCOGTN) • Two Telescopes • Provide free access to robotics telescope. • Asteroids, Supernovae, Galaxies.
Design • Build two workstations. - MCC - Summit of Haleakala

Problem #1 • Out of IP addresses • Network Address Translation (NAT) system • Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) server. • Delay in obtaining the router • Complications of ordering • Used local router as a substitute
Configure/Test Network Link • Serving DHCP • Remote desktop
Problem #2 • Private address isolated
Remote Desktop • Created a Virtual Private Network using Hamachi. Created an ECET LAB network
Summary • Built a Personal Computer (PC) • DHCP Configuration • Configure/Test Network Link X Network Attached Storage (NAS) Configuration
Conclusion • Remote access to telescope station. • Improvement of Lab • Provide rewarding high paying jobs.
Future Plans • MCC’s own telescope dome • Video Conference with Kauai and Big Island
