Research article • Who Are You? By Jenny McArtney in the Wall Street Journal talks about writing your college application essay. In her article she says when writing your college application essay you need to do four things, avoid clichés, tell a story, be authentic, and show confidence. • I agree with Jenny completely, you have to avoid clichés because it shows that you are not original with your writing which puts you in the box with all the squares. You have to tell a story because this can help you with describing yourself better than a description and gets the readers attention. Being authentic is another big one because anyone can write what people want to hear and you cannot be a afraid to show your personality. Showing confidence because its hard to not be conceited when writing about yourself so you cannot be afraid to show that you have much to learn but have already accomplished a lot. • Article:http://www.wsjclassroom.com/cre/articles/11dec_colg_jennydec.htm
