Manipal Natural to Launch Nutraceutical/Herbal Extract Manufacturing Facility in Bangalore Rural Manipal Group, an India-based ingredient supplier specializing in botanical extracts and functional food and beverage ingredients, announced that it will soon launch a new nutraceutical and herbal extracts manufacturing facility in Dabaspet Industrial Area, located in the Bangalore Rural District of Karnataka, India. The factory will cover a 100,000 square-foot area, and will have the capacity to process 30 metric tons of herbal product per day. The facility will manufacture standardized herbal extracts, phytochemicals, organic herbal extracts, and nutraceutical ingredients for leading dietary/food supplement manufacturers around the world. Manipal Natural reports that the global medicinal plant extracts market is projected to grow due to an increased demand for herbal supplements. Furthermore, the company projects that the 5-acre facility will create 200 jobs, according to chairman Shri Sudhakar Pai, with more job openings slated for the future nearby 17 acres of land the company has acquired for more expansion. “The facility is designed to meet international standards with processing areas, complying with ISO Class 8 cleanroom facility,” Dr. Shiv, managing director of Manipal Natural, said. “The R&D center at Manipal will be oriented to develop science-based herbal extracts that make lives healthier and better.” “Increasing acceptance of medicinal plant extract-based products due to a rising awareness, and health concerns, is also one of the key factors driving the growth of the global medicinal plant extract market,” Ashish Pradhan, director of Manipal Natural added.
