  2. If you search on Google, then you can easily find the “HTTP” and “HTTPS” sites in the result page. How are two different and whether you need an HTTPS for a better Google rank? What is “HTTPS”? The “S” at the end of the “HTTP” means that the site is secure and you need to buy an SSL certificate to get one. Such sites come with SSL which protects the site connections by way of authentication and the encryption as well. After the installation of the SSL certificate on the web-server, it activates the padlock and the “HTTPS” protocol, and it allows the secure connections from the web server to the web browser. The secure websites protect the user’s connection by securing the information as under: The encryption makes sure that the user activity can’t be tracked and the information stolen. The data integrity makes sure that the files don’t get corrupted when they are transferred. The authentication protects against possible attacks and helps on gaining the trust of the user.

The Chrome browser labels the HTTP site as insecure and gives a warning that the connection is not secure. The “HTTPS” sites load much faster than the HTTP sites, so they are more likely to rank better. “HTTPS” is also considered in the Google’s ranking algorithm for past few years. It Impacts Traffic As Well Better rankings may lead to more traffic. When more people see the site, it increases the number of visitors manifold. When the users are looking at the search result, they see a secure site as a signal of trust and authority and click the website over another. A non-secure site thus improves your site’s click-through-rate.
