  3. Jeff Brady, long-time publisher of the Skagway, News, is a UNC-CH grad and likes to recruit our students for summer internships at his seaside paper in Alaska. In January 2004 he came back to guest lecture the Community Journalism class while taking in a Tar Heel basketball game.

  4. The multi-talented Marty Ravellette of Carrboro is a class favorite when it comes to feature story interviewing topics. Born without arms, Ravellette owns and operates “Marty’s Hands-on Landscaping” with the chainsaw being his tool of choice. Yes, he cuts down trees with a chainsaw using only his bare feet. And he makes a pretty fine motivational speaker too!
