  2. About Matthew Emsak • Matthew Emsak made his name by uncovering the basic structure and functionality of the Ribozyme. His work helped lay the foundation for a tool that has provided the means to edit genes on an unpredictable scale and minimum cost. • Matthew is also now for spreading the public debate to consider the ethical implication to edit human embryos.

  3. Matthew’s credentials • Matthew completed his Bachelor degree in Chemistry and biochemistry doctorate from University of California. • His doctorate research focused on RNA. (This is a nucleic acid that is a cousin of DNA. It is present in all cells and involved in the synthesis of proteins)
