All this happened when last week, I visited my cousin’s place. We got up into a heated up argument about the boxer briefs and trunks. He stuck to the point that both the styles were same but, I’m a fashion blogger so, I was pretty sure that the styles were different. So, finally, we visited an online men’s underwear store called as Mensuas which had a variety of styles under them. Well, they made my job easier for explaining my cousin about the differences.

Are Boxer Briefs and Trunks the Same thing? All this happened when last week, I visited my cousin’s place. We got up into a heated up argument about the boxer briefs and trunks. He stuck to the point that both the styles were same but, I’m a fashion blogger so, I was pretty sure that the styles were different. So, finally, we visited an online men’s underwear store called as Mensuas which had a variety of styles under them. Well, they made my job easier for explaining my cousin about the differences. Though, it's not our fault as both of the styles look the same. However, there are minute differences between the styles. It can vary in cuts, length and sometimes in functionality as well. So, this blog is all about differentiating the two different styles for all those who feel that they are the same, including my cousin(Josh, I hope you are reading this!). Read on to know about them. 1. The functional fly. This is one of the major difference between the trunk underwear and the boxer briefs. When the supportive former style was introduced, they had the option of a functional fly. This would be easy for the wearers for the urgent nature calls. Since then, the feature is incorporated till now while
some of the modern versions avoid the fly as they lack in construction. Comparatively, the latter ones do not have this option. 2. The length of both the styles differ. Boxer briefs are longer in length when compared to the trunks. In some cases, the length of the former goes till the knees whereas the later ones are shorter, cooler and tend to show off more skin.
3. Elastic leg bands. The next big difference between the underneath articles is elastic bands. The boxer briefs have visible elastic leg bands to support the thighs while the same feature is not present in the trunks. Another important point to note here is leg bands are necessary for long underwear that comes till the thighs because it might lack in support. The same can be optional on trunks because they are short in length. As you can see, the above are some of the major differences between both the styles. One of the similarities between them is they do not compromise on support and comfort as they are crafted out of one of the best fabric blends. Some of them also include a pinch of spandex and LYCRAthat increases the stretchability of the attires.
