Host Europe’s green initiative • Active participation in work-groups and consortiums • Active membership in the Green Grid and Climatesavers • Work group efficient data center from eco in Germany • Use an energy efficient data center • Efficient is a PUE below 1.6 (less than 1.4 is possible!) • Use energy efficient servers • Look for low voltage, multi-core CPUs • Watch the power supply! • Become a virtualization addict • Use container technology whenever possible, best efficiency footprint • Buy carbon neutral electricity Parallels Summit 2008
