4. STRATEGY: Make Inferences and Analyze Authors don’t always tell us everything in their story
Readers have to carefully look at the information and make inferences.
To make inferences, good readers use what you know and clues in the story to figure out what is missing. You are a detective!
5. SKILL: Draw Conclusions As good readers, you often use two or more story details and their own experience to explain characters’ actions, or events.
By doing this, you can understand the story better.
When you do this, you draw conclusions!
