Challenges... • Faculty are accustomed to working independently • Online teaching strategies are not the same as in class strategies • Faculty are isolated in developing courses • Learners are new to online environment • Courses need to be developed in set timeframe • College needs to maintain level of consistency and quality
What we have learned…. • Quality of courses improves with team approach • Faculty are willing to work as team in developing course when introduced to the concept early • Students are satisfied with learning experience (93% would take another online course) • A virtual learning community needs to be fostered
